Biography
As a highly qualified professional with a career spanning over 35 years, Andries has extensive experience in all aspects of business analysis and strategy, business development, agricultural economics, strategic financial planning, general management, marketing and project management.
He has a demonstrated track record of maximising contributions to business strategy and profitability – and successfully performed several due diligences and viability studies. Adding to this, he served as an independent non-executive director on the boards of agricultural enterprises in the field of insurance as well as in the grain industry.
He obtained a PhD in Agricultural Economics with the title “Sustainable Profitability and Growth of Agribusinesses in South Africa”, from the North West University in 2017. In the same year, he was invited to present a paper titled “Strategies implemented by South African agribusinesses for sustainable profitability and growth” at the IFAMA World Conference in Miami, Florida. This was followed by him being appointed as external examiner at the Business School of the North West University in 2018.
Andries has travelled extensively for work related purposes to various African and European countries as well as to the United States of America. He is a seasoned traveller who is inspired to expand the horizons of his colleagues in agriculture by planning to launch in the near future organised and hosted educational agri-related tours to relevant local and international destinations.
As a registered estate agent, he has gained valuable experience in the marketing of real estate – from residential property, commercial property and business enterprises to farms and agricultural land.
